Waffle Stitch Crochet Dishcloths

As I was browsing through Anthropologie looking at all of their amazing kitchen items, I saw a set of waffle weave dishcloths and I thought…”I want those.”

And after that thought, my next thought came to me. Are you ready? Yep…”I Can Crochet That.”

I’ve been wanting to come up with a crochet pattern of sorts that would be perfect to give as a gift. Whether it’s for a house warming, a dorm gift or an I-haven’t-seen-you-in-months-because-quarantine gift, these dishcloths are the perfect gift to give.

I Can Crochet That Pattern

Just stitch them up, put them in a pretty container of some sort and they’re ready to gift. No wrapping necessary.

The Stitches

These dishcloths are whipped up using very basic stitches. The double crochet and the front post double crochet; plus single crochet for the edging.

Once you get the hang of the front post double crochet, these will only take you about an hour to an hour and a half to make. They are so easy!

Here’s a YouTube tutorial showing you how to do the Crochet Waffle Stitch.

The Colors + The Yarn

Update 1/14/2020: Loops & Threads Creme Cotton yarn has been discontinued. I made new dishcloths using Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton.

You can purchase Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton at your local craft store, on Amazon.com here or LionBrand.com here.

Does it wash well?

Speaking of using these dishcloths over and over. I didn’t want to give you a pattern for something to use in the kitchen and not test its durability.

So, I washed a few dishes, wiped down the counters, microwave and stove with the cream color dishcloth and then ran it through the wash.

How did it do? Great! Here are a few pictures of the dishcloth after use and going through the wash and dry cycle.

The dishcloth shrunk just a tad bit, making the stitches a little smaller and closer together. Which ended up creating a dishcloth that worked even better than before.

So rest assured you can give these as a gift and know they can actually be used for their intended purpose. 🙂

Earlier this week I shared a tutorial on how to crochet the waffle stitch and there is no better way to retain a new skill than to use it! This simple crochet waffle stitch dishcloth pattern is the perfect way to practice your new stitch.

Once you’ve made the dishcloth, you will be well on your way to making larger projects featuring the waffle stitch like cowls, scarves, and even blankets.

What’s so great about a waffle stitch dishcloth?

The waffle stitch dishcloth feels dense without actually being dense. There is enough space between stitches for the dishcloth to dry quickly.

The raised post stitches, give the dishcloth some great texture with scrubbing power! If you need a flatter surface for cleaning, the smother side of the dishcloth is perfect for that.close of of crochet waffle stitch dishcloth pattern

The dishcloth works up so quickly, once you get the pattern repeat down. Plus the look of them can be made so different.

Use a more delicate border like in this pattern and you have a dishcloth worthy of your fine china. (Honestly, do you have fine china? My mom left me this beautiful set, but I am too afraid to use it!) Or you can leave the simple sc border and have a less dainty look. Either way, the look of the waffle stitch dishcloth is so different from other dishcloths.

They don’t have to be a dishcloth. Doesn’t the waffle stitch washcloth sound a bit better anyway? With this simple, yet beautiful border, they’d be a great addition to a spa gift basket or look lovely hanging in your shower.

Notes

When working the first round of single crochets for the border, it is easier to work around the stitches along the sides instead of trying to work into the stitches. You’ll use 2 scs around each double crochet or turning chain as you work the first round of the border.

There is a full, step by step, waffle stitch tutorial for right handers and left handers.

CROCHET: How to crochet the Waffle stitch - Bella Coco

Did not ask to stop the enema, let him go to the toilet, etc. After the second enema, as after the first, I turned Temka over on his tummy and, stroking and massaging his ass, made him lie down. A little and hold the enema, then let him go to the toilet.

Dasha obeyed and when the penis was at the level of her mouth, instantly grabbed this beauty and began to suck it. She relaxed her throat and swallowed her cock as deeply as she could until he sprayed her from the inside. Dasha choked, coughed, but swallowed everything.

The sperm was bitter, apparently due to the alcohol drunk by the guy.

Marie smiled, lightly patting herself on the swollen belly. - Honey, you pumped two gallons of sperm into me, no less. What pathology will allow you to do this. How are you able to pour out so much liquid without harm to your health.

Now discussing:

I knelt down in front of him and began to unbutton his pants. He was without panties, and I immediately saw his cock. It was a plump and moderately long member.
