About This Listing

Analog Vibes Opto - Vintage LA2A style.

This is a “vintage correct” LA2A where considering circuit design and components.

It works without any issue and sounds thick and round while having a delicious compression with no artifacts and just holds a signal together.

Great to mix with, great fun to track with.

Vintage and Correct input and output transformers. The input transformer is the desired HA-100X, cost me $800 alone.

Vintage NOS carbon composition resistors throughout. SOZO caps on the board. Real UA “Teletronix” VU meter and raised, screen printed Teletronix Engineering Co. logo on the front panel as came from Analog Vibes. New opto cell from Kenetek.

Vintage tubes except the second 12AX7 in the sidechain, that’s a new one. The 12AX7 in the audio path is a NOS American-made GE tube. Sounds incredible; detailed and open, but not hyped.

Looks very official, sounds just like a vintage LA-2A - because it’s made with the same stuff.

Looking for a vintage LA2A, but don’t want to pay vintage prices? Looking for an Anqlog Vibes Opto, but don’t want to build one? Looking for a high quality LA2A clone? This is the one. Already boxed up and ready to ship to your door.

Baby due in 9 weeks, so thinning the herd quickly, that’s the only reason for selling. No returns, buying diapers with the money.

About This Listing

I built this unit with the same specifications as the 1968 Unit. I used the exact same input Transformer (HA100x exact replica) UA uses on their reissues currently on the market, as well as the UTC A24 output transformer taken directly from a vintage la2a, so this is a hybrid vintage/modern, a unique beauty. I chose NOS RCA and GE valves for the signal path. Carbon composite resistors were used as per the originals as well as reissues. All voltages test and match the schematics. This unit is dead quiet in operation, no hum, no high noise floor, just silky compression. This compressor does its job and does it well while hugging the signal in a natural luxurious fashion. Buried in 20 dB of gain reduction with the output cranked beyond the physical threshold of the components, its still a musical charm. It has TONS of gain. You can drive this baby into distortion, or gain stage it in the name of proper dynamic control and experience the best from both sides of this units split sonic personalities. It IS verbatim a la2a, it's the simple, let me grab both knobs and close my eyes til it sounds right kind of box. I had to mark out the Teletronix for TM reasons, but I built it to be an exact replica, and for my personal studio. The Case was made by Don Audio in Europe. All pots and switches are top shelf and are the exact same ones as the current units, purchased from David Kulka at Studio Electronics. I also used a current Universal Audio T4 opto cell, same as in today’s, as well as an original current Teletronix meter. I am asking for the cost I spent to build this unit. It wasn’t cheap!

How a Tube Program Equalizer (Pultec EQP-1a) works - overview

analogvibes shows you how to build your own authentic Pultec EQP-1A tube EQ

The original Pultec EQP-1A is a studio relic, used throughout almost every Beatles recording and continuously sought after by gearheads even today. We even created a guide a few years back detailing how you can emulate the power of the EQ, but it appears Analog Vibes have gone for a more creative approach, offering you a DIY Complete Kit that lets you build the Pultec EQP-1A. “Why bother with digital emulations of vintage gear when you can have the real thing?”, the brand’s website tagline says. Touché.

The Tube Program Equalizer Complete Kit is available for pre-order now, and is the second instalment of Analog Vibes’ ‘Build Your Legend Series’. The company has created a video that provides an overview of the original Pultec EQP-1A, plus two more videos that lead up to the release of the Tube Program Equalizer Complete Kit release. The Complete Kit will provide everything you need to create the EQ module, including ‘True-to-the-original authentic chassis set’, custom made parts, high-end components and all the other hardware required.

Analog Vibes is offering the kit as a group buy, meaning that once all the orders are filled, manufacturing will start. This means there will be a limited run, so if you’re interested in this offer, it’s advised to shoot your shot early. A detailed breakdown of the project is available on Analog Vibes’ website.

Pre-ordering closes on 5 February 2020, with a price of €1299 plus shipping costs. Find out more at analogvibes.com

Vibes analog

I was instructed to deliver some kind of parcel to a lady with whom my mother met earlier. These were the only words she said to me. I simply replied that I would take everything and looked at her very pitifully, but her eyes remained, as always, cold. Amy asked me what happened and I told her to shut up, she gets very cocky and seems to be restless.

In response, she said that she hoped that I didnt do anything bad to my mother, to which I asked what she meant.

ANALOG VIBES

And the young hlysh began to offer to enroll in the French army, promising new recruits great benefits. No one except Fedot agreed and the orator, with a wave of his hand, went to drink wine with the French officers. In the morning, the French, hastily ate a stew with breadcrumbs, moved on towards Smolensk.

And I honestly was afraid of her after she stabbed grandfather Timokh. But I could not refuse the invitation, then everyone would consider me a coward. Let's go well, maybe Marina is right, but we need to check. I answered the partisan, feeling the SS Walter in my pocket. Although I had a "Schmeisser" on my shoulder, while you take it off you will lose time.
