The Best 370z Exhausts: Let It Scream!

The Nissan 370z is powered by the cult-favorite VQ37VHR engine, which is well known for its bullet-proof reliability. But t’s almost unfair that the 370z’s factory exhaust system is so quiet and restrictive.

Luckily, there are many aftermarket options to choose from when it comes down to a performance upgrade.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through a long list of the best exhausts for your 370z. We’ve broken it down into three main sections — budget-friendly, high performance, and premium, to make your decision easier.

Nissan 370z Stock Exhaust: Any Good?

Most car enthusiasts agree that the 370z doesn’t sound bad. However, it would be great if the 3.7L V6 sounded more aggressive from the factory.

For daily driving and regular use, the stock VQ37VHR has plenty of power, churning out 282 whp and 230 wtq.

It sounds relatively quiet at cold starts and at idle, showing its true potential as a sports car when you drive it under wide-open throttle. But even then, it’s still fairly subtle.

Time For An Upgrade?

Replacing your 370z factory exhaust system with an aftermarket one is bound to kick things up a notch — both in terms of sound and performance.

A few things you can expect from an upgrade:

  • Better Sound: A high-quality cat-back exhaust system will give you a deeper rumble at the lower rpm range and an aggressive roar at the top-end. Keep in mind that some systems might cause your 370z exhaust to drone at highway speeds, which is annoying and unwanted.
  • Improved Performance: We aren’t talking crazy numbers here, but it’s safe to say you can expect a noticeable jump in power gains after installing an upgraded exhaust system. Top brands offer up to 18 whp and 15 wtq increments.
  • Reduced weight: It’s no surprise that high-performance exhaust systems are lighter than OEM which in theory improves performance and handling. Of course, we’re speaking about 5-15 lbs reduction, which may not be a lot but still stacks up when you’re making other modifications to your 370z.

Cheap 370z Exhausts

The good news is that installing a high-quality exhaust system won’t burn a hole in your pocket. You can get a decent cat-back system for around $500 and completely transform how your 370z sounds.

These exhaust systems will not be as nicely finished or performance efficient, and they will probably be a bit harder to install, but they’ll get the job done.

DC Sports Dual

DC Sports Dual exhaust for Nissan 370z

Manufacturer: DC Sports
Part Number: SCS6206
Design: Cat-back
Construction: Full T304 stainless steel
Tip Size (in): 4.0
Piping Diameter (in): 2.5
Sound: Smooth and sporty
Buy On:Amazon

Popular with many 370z owners, this cat-back exhaust system by DC Sports proves that you won’t need to break the bank to get your hands on something worthwhile. The build quality is pretty solid and it features polished stainless steel construction.

As this system meets the federal requirements for noise emissions, don’t expect a mind-blowing sound. Still, if nothing more it adds to the sporty nature of your 370z.

The muffler offers a straight-through design with fiberglass and stainless steel wool elements to keep your neighbors happy. More importantly, the design improves exhaust gas flow, which is great for improved engine power and throttle response.

This kit was built to fit your car easily, but if you’re installing it with aftermarket headers or test pipes, expect to spend some time to get it to fit correctly. This said, it won’t require any cutting or welding, just some man-handling.

Manzo Dual

Manzo Dual V2 Exhaust for Nissan Z34

Manufacturer: Manzo
Part Number: TP-CBS-NN09
Design: Cat-back
Construction: Stainless steel
Tip Size (in): 4.0
Piping Diameter (in): 2.5
Sound: Moderate low rumble
Buy On:Enjuku Racing

It doesn’t get any more budget-friendly than this Manzo exhaust system which is the cheapest 370z exhaust on our list. The piping diameter is the same as the one offered by DC Sports. However, both systems sound different because they house different mufflers.

The Manzo exhaust offers a very similar sound to OEM, but with a nicer rumble at idle. Also, this exhaust is noticeably lighter than stock, which is great for performance.

Don’t expect a significant power increase after installing this aftermarket exhaust though. At the very least, however, better throttle response is guaranteed.

What’s great is that this exhaust looks right at home on your 370z while the burnt tips add a layer of aggressiveness. Fitment is easy as it comes with all the necessary bolts and gaskets.

Megan Racing Drift Spec

Megan Racing Drift Spec Exhaust

Manufacturer: Megan Racing
Part Number: MR-CBS-N7Z09-DS-BTR+MR-CBS-N7Z0

Megan Racing’s Drift Spec exhaust system is popular with many 370z enthusiasts for a number of reasons. For starters, it offers the deepest sound when compared to other exhaust systems on this list.

With fully polished stainless steel, CNC machined mandrel bends, and blue tips, it makes for a pretty slick addition to your 370z.

The installation is a straightforward job. It bolts on directly to the OEM points, which is great at this price point. In addition, Megan Racing gives a 12-month warranty for all its cat-back systems.

Agency Power Dual

AP-Z34-170T exhaust system

Manufacturer: Agency Power
Part Number: AP-Z34-170T
Design: Cat-back
Construction: TIG-welded 304 stainless steel, Titanium tips
Tip Size: 4.0
Piping Diameter (in): 2.5
Sound: Mellow tone
Buy On:Amazon

Crafted by Agency Power, this is yet another budget-friendly exhaust system that offers great performance packed with a refined sound. You can expect to see estimated gains of about 8 whp and 5 wtq over stock through the mid and top rpm range.

The power increase may not sound like much but at this price but it’s a fairly good purchase. Better yet, it comes as a bolt-on replacement which makes installation very easy.

The sound is clearly better and smoother than the 370 OEM exhaust and it roars when the throttle is wide open. As for its construction, it features TIG welded stainless steel which ensures maximum weight reduction for your Nissan 370z.

As an added bonus, Agency Power offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty for this exhaust system.

High-Performance Exhaust Systems For 370z

If you’re chasing high power gains and and don’t mind how loud your car is, a high-performance exhaust system is exactly what you need.

Keep in mind that these exhaust systems do not come cheap. But will they be worth every penny? You bet.

Fast Intentions TDX

Fast Intentions TDX exhaust with Carbon fiber mufflers

Manufacturer:Fast Intentions
Part Number: FI-370-CB

The Fast Intentions TDX exhaust is a favorite amongst many Nissan 370z owners. Every exhaust is handmade in the USA and offers just the sort of performance would expect from a high-end exhaust system.

You’ll hear a significant difference on cold starts as it’s much louder and smoother compared to stock. Some 370z owners might find it too loud, but it all comes down to personal preference.

This exhaust system is dyno-tested and the estimated power gains are about 20 whp and 11 wtq when installed on the stock engine. Also, it’s lighter than the factory exhaust by about 10-16 lbs depending on the configuration used.

It comes as a bolt-on replacement and installation is relatively quick without the need for any cutting or welding.

AAM Competition Resonated S-Line

AAM Competition Resonated S-Line axle-back exhaust

Manufacturer: AAM Competition
Part Number: AAMC37E-TSS-RES-SS
Design: Axle-back

Tip Size (in): 4.0
Piping Diameter (in): 2.5
Sound: Aggressive tone
Buy On:Amazon

If you’re on the search for an aggressive sounding exhaust system that won’t cost you an arm and leg, take a look at what AAM Competition has to offer. Since this is an axle-back exhaust, it only consists of two short pipes that you install after the rear axle.

All in all, an axle-back design is a great choice if you can’t stand the droning sound that many exhaust systems are prone to make. What’s even better is that it’s rather lightweight and cuts around 14 lbs from your 370z.

While you won’t see any impressive power gains with this exhaust, it’s still a great way of transforming your 370z’s sound while improving the exterior too.

Invidia Gemini

Invidia Gemini cat-back exhaust-system for the Nissan 370z

Manufacturer: Invidia
Part Number: HS09N7ZGID
Design: Cat-back

If you’re looking for an exhaust system that looks fantastic on your 370z and increases performance too, Invidia has what you need. While the Gemini doesn’t scream too loud, it won’t cause a drone or rasp either.

The entire exhaust system is made using fully-polished stainless steel and titanium tubing that’s sure to make your 370z look more aggressive.

The installation is a breeze as it comes with all the necessary hardware and instructions. More importantly, every pipe aligns perfectly in place like OEM.

The Tanabe Medalion Touring is a great choice for 370z owners who aren’t too keen on screaming exhausts but still want a deep rumbling sound. The great thing about this exhaust is that it doesn’t drone at all.

When driving at low revs, you won’t hear much of a difference but when you go hard on the throttle, the sound is deep and refined.

As for its construction, the exhaust is made from SUS304 stainless steel and a mandrel-bent design for maximum flow and power.

If you’re looking for increased performance, Stillen has the perfect setup for you. It offers a significant bump in power; dyno-proven at 18 whp and 15 wtq over the stock exhaust.

Of course, the power increase will only be noticeable at mid to high rpm, but you’ll have a deeper sound all throughout the rev-range.

This is a great looking exhaust thanks to it’s 304 stainless steel finish and impeccable welds. In addition, Stillen offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty against rust and manufacturer defects.

The aFe Takeda is an awesome dual exhaust system that will instantly turn your Z34 into a high-revving screamer. You can expect to see about 10 whp and 12 wtq power increments noticeably in lower to mid-rpm — perfect for 370z owners with a turbo under the hood.

This is achieved thanks to the dual 14” mufflers, mandrel-bent design, and an X-pipe, all of which increase the flow of the exhaust gases and reduce exhaust drone.

Additionally, the whole exhaust is made of 304 stainless steel to ensure this withstands rusting, and looks great.

ARK GRiP

ARK Performance GRiP exhaust for Nissan 370z

Manufacturer: ARK Performance
Part Number: SM0901-0209G
Design: Cat-back

While this exhaust isn’t the loudest on our list, you’ll definitely hear a deep rumble on cold startups and hear it get louder as you move up the rev range.

The build quality is durable and its mirror-polished stainless steel makes the 370z look as sleek as ever. ARK Performance offers three different tips (polished, burnt, tecno) and in our opinion, the burnt option looks the best.

Borla Dual

Manufacturer: Borla
Part Number: 140313
Design: Cat-back

This exhaust system truly does justice to the 370z’s iconic growl so expect to hear a rather deep rumble at idle. Once you hit the accelerator, it sounds very similar to stock but with a more refined tone. The growl at low rpms however, is evident even up to 4000 rpm.

Borla uses a patented straight-through design and multi-core technology that will improve power and fuel economy of your Z.

The whole exhaust is CNC machined with precision to perfectly fit your Nissan 370z, so no cutting or welding is required. In addition to this, it comes with a Million-Mile Warranty.

GReddy EVOlution GT

Part Number: 10128303
Design: Cat-back
Construction: 304 stainless steel

Piping Diameter (in): 2.5
Sound: Mellow tone

Another popular name in the world of high-performance upgrades — GReddy offers an impressive cat-back exhaust upgrade for your Nissan 370z. Dyno-tested on the stock engine, this system delivers estimated increase of 16 whp and 19 wtq. With numbers like these, you can certainly see the appeal.

The 2.5” Y-pipe connects to a 3” X-pipe with dual resonators which helps stabilize exhaust pressure and improve sound quality. The sound of this exhaust is somewhat similar to OEM but with more aggressive at high rpm.

GReddy was able to cut the weight by about 6 pounds over the factory exhaust which, though not as light as others in this list, is still an improvement. The system is built as an easy bolt-on replacement and no adjustments are needed.

Premium Exhausts For Your Nissan 370z

These exhaust systems are considered the absolute best of the best. While you can find loud systems made from stainless steel in the categories above, the systems below take it to the next level.

Their finishes are perfect. Not only are they easy to install, their welds are a work of art. While some are much louder than your OEM exhaust, they offer a crisp exhaust note, without a hint of drone. This is why they sell for a premium price.

What’s great about this exhaust is that it’s surprisingly quiet at idle but roars loud and deep when you step on the accelerator.

The weight reduction with this exhaust is astonishing as well. R1 Titan Extra only weighs 17.5 lbs, which is more than half compared to OEM.

Also, the Super Sound Master comes as a full replacement, which includes all the necessary hardware and installation instructions.

HKS Legamax Premium

  1. Thank you for the cat-back review and comparison. I found it to be very resourceful. In your research, does the Manzo TP-CBS-NN09 fit newer Z models. I have a 2014 touring convertible and while the specifications indicate that it only fits models 2009-2012, I am unclear if it fits. Can you help?

ARMYTRIX VALVETRONIC:
HOW IT WORKS - BRIEF OVERVIEW

As an Armytrix fan, customer, or potential customer, you have likely heard of Valvetronic. It's one of the prominent selling features of Armytrix exhaust systems and has shifted the entire exhaust industry towards adopting similar technology in all exhaust systems. The whole point of the Valvetronic system is to give you an option for how loud you want your car to be. If you leave early in the morning for work, you probably don't want your car to be excessively loud, as it will upset your neighbors. Once you're out on the open road or shredding a canyon road, you want to hear those awesome noises your car makes

The Valvetronic system allows you to switch between being quiet and being loud with the push of a button via the included remote or through the smartphone application; this works by tapping into a vacuum source on your engine and connecting it to the control module. When you press the button on the remote or smartphone application, you are communicating with the OBDII module via Bluetooth. This OBDII module tells the exhaust valve module to allow the engine vacuum to open or close the exhaust valve. You can also set the exhaust valve module to an automatic mode which will open/close the exhaust valve based on predetermined RPM range or throttle position.

Aside from getting a brutal sound with the Valvetronic system open, you can also gain power, especially if your car is turbocharged. Depending on the car, modifications, and tune you have, the valve being open will also the exhaust gas to flow more freely, as it does not have to pass through any muffler. If your vehicle is turbocharged, you may see a slight increase in boost pressure depending if you are running an open or closed boost cycle, resulting in more horsepower.

  • Manufacturer: Berk Technology
  • Internal pipe diameter: Twin 64mm (2.5″)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Value for money:🔥🔥🔥🔥
  • Purchase link: Discontinued

Our comment: Berk Technology’s popular offering is the most affordable of our selection so far. This beautifully crafted exhaust provides a deep yet mellow exhaust note while keeping a neat stock-looking finish to the rear end of the car with the outside sound providing a much more aggressive, clean sound.

Manufacturer description:“Backed by years of experience in building championship winning race cars, Berk Technology has applied the same knowledge into their line of street exhaust systems for the 370Z. The Berk Technology 370Z dual exhaust system was designed from the ground up as a no compromise system that unlocks the potential of the potent Nissan VQ37VHR motor.”

“Through testing and R&D we discovered the most optimal X-pipe design which is unique to our product. Our design utilizes a tangential siamesed X-pipe design that proved to make the most power on the 370Z and is one of the secrets behind our wide power gains and clean sound. Once you install this system on your 370Z the first thing you’ll notice is our signature sound.”

“It will still keep the same sound character of the 370Z, but adds a slightly exotic note that is intoxicating to the automotive enthusiast. Another great benefit is that our systems are tuned to be near silent at cruise and will only come alive during heavier throttle application. There is zero intrusive cabin drone or unpleasant harshness.”

Tomei Expreme Titanium 370Z Exhaust

Tomei Expreme Titanium 370Z Exhaust

Our comment: Weighing in at an insane 13lbs (5.7kg) is Tomei’s offering, despite an extremely impressive 18.8kg weight loss, this single-exhaust system is perhaps not for everyone. If you’re purely weight loss and performance – the Tomei is quite possibly the best choice for the money. However, with the 370Z’s body design made with twin exits in mind – having a single large Jap-style exhaust poking out the rear is an acquired taste.

Featuring far fewer bends than other offerings, the large diameter, high-flow design of the exhaust is fantastic for performance but not so great for those who are after a quieter drive.

Manufacturer description:“With an overall dramatic performance improvement & weight reduction, breathe new life into your 370Z.”

“This Tomei Expreme Ti Exhaust system is truly a high-quality production part, for true competition use without compromise. Only the best Titanium grade materials are used in the production of the components. From the special racing layout design, created as straight as possible, to the high flow silencer, Tomei has poured their extensive knowledge of Japanese vehicles into this design. When you see and weigh the EXPREME Ti system, you will understand that this exhaust system has no rivals.”

“High-quality production, for true competition use without compromise. Only the best Titanium grade materials are used. From the special racing layout design, made as straight as possible, to the high flow silencer. We have poured our knowledge into it all. Invidia Gemini 370Z Exhaust

  • Manufacturer: Invidia

  • Tailpipe configuration: Twin 110mm tips (4.3”)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Value for money:🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
  • Purchase link:Buy your Invidia Gemini 370Z Exhaust

Our comment: Boasting a subtle design with burnt tips, Invidia bring another very reasonable and extremely popular option to the market.

Although slightly louder than some of our earlier offerings, it is still tame enough to be a good highway cruiser until the deep growl unleashes an entirely different beast around the 2.5-4.5k rev range.

Manufacturer description:“The Invidia Gemini Exhaust is the latest in the Invidia line of beautiful exhaust systems that feature fully polished stainless steel piping with mandrel bent tubing, and one of the best sounds you will hear from any performance exhaust!”

  • Tailpipe configuration: Twin 102mm tip (4”)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Value for money:🔥🔥🔥
  • Purchase link: Buy your Manzo 370Z Exhaust at Enjuku Racing

Our comment: By far the cheapest offering from our list, this Manzo exhaust offers great value for money for those who are looking to go down the lower-budget route.

We can’t deny that the exhaust sounds great despite some drone noise and when fitted under the car, it certainly looks good too! If you are simply looking for a better flowing exhaust without being worried about perfect welds or running a name brand, this may well be a great affordable option for you!

Manufacturer description:“Manzo is built by a large big name performance tuning company, so you get a quality product but at an affordable price.”

  • Tailpipe configuration: Twin 114mm tips (4.5”)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Value for money:🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
  • Purchase link: Buy your Fast Intentions exhuast here!

Our comment: This fantastic mid-range offering from US-based Fast Intentions is the first choice for many owners. Each exhaust is made in-house to order at their US factory to extremely high standards with great fitment. With an epic deep, throaty, exotic-sounding note, it’s easy to see why this is the go-to option for so many owners.

Our only downsides would be a slight drone in the upper gears and it perhaps sits a little lower than those who require high ground clearance would like. With a choice of tips available, great looks and an epic sound, it’s definitely one to consider.

Manufacturer description: “Fast Intentions is proud to present our 370Z TDXCat Back Exhaust System.”

“This Cat-Back exhaust system is the premier upgrade for all 370Z owners looking to maximize the performance of their VQ37VHR V6 engine. Our cat back exhaust system will enhance the sound that Nissan created from the factory by making it deeper, smoother, and louder.”

“Built as a direct OEM replacement, our exhaust system is easy to install with simple hand tools; no cutting or welding required. Our X Pipe is designed to increase low-end torque and maximize power throughout the entire RPM band. The exhaust note is unobtrusive at idle and cruising speeds but comes to life at wide open throttle. With the addition of our cat back exhaust system, you will improve the aesthetics of your vehicle with its sporty and aggressive appearance.”

Our comment: Weighing in at just 9.2kg, this incredible STTI titanium offering from Amuse is undoubtedly the unicorn of the 370Z exhaust world. Despite being visually stunning insanely lightweight and providing an incredible soundtrack, this comes at a cost.

With prices starting at $3,295, expect to fork out an eye-watering $7,485 for the quad-exit alternative. If money is no object, this could quite possibly be the exhaust for the perfect finishing touch to your 370Z!

ISR Performance ST Series 370Z Exhaust

isr performance st series dual 370z exhaust

  • Manufacturer: ISR Performance
  • Internal pipe diameter: Twin 64mm (2.5″)
  • Tailpipe configuration: Twin 102mm tip (4”)
  • Primary exhaust system material: Stainless Steel
  • Value for money:🔥🔥🔥🔥
  • Purchase link:Buy your ISR Performance ST Series exhaust here!

Our comment: ISR Performance is well-known for bringing some of the most reasonably-priced options to the market.

Although it doesn’t come in quite as cheap as the Manzo, we feel that this is reflected in the quality, and we do not doubt that many will agree that ISR’s ST (Street) Series is worth the extra cost if funds allow.

While this is louder than the stock exhaust, it’s not excessively so for those considering options for your daily driver.

Providing a deeper growl over the OEM offering from Nissan, we feel it sounds fantastic, with no significant difference for highway driving, but it comes alive when you hit the gas.

We feel that the ISR Performance ST Series exhaust offers an excellent value-for-money option and nicely sets off the Z’s sleek styling.

Manufacturer description: “The ISR Performance ST Series Exhaust for Nissan 370Z is a Y-Pipe Back exhaust system that utilizes a Stainless steel 2 bolt 3″ flange that splits into 2 2.5″ pipes with bottle style resonators and continues back to an aggressive muffler section with 4” tips.”

“This exhaust gives your car not only a great look but a deep tone that every enthusiast is looking for. Our ISR 370Z Street Exhaust is design to bolt directly to the vehicles stock Y- pipes replacing the mid-pipe and factory rear muffler.

Our winner

There’s no doubt that exhaust choices are mostly down to personal preference. Each person may prefer the look or sound of a certain exhaust and each one in this guide will see improvements over the restrictive stock mufflers.

Our winner is Invidia Gemini.

We couldn’t ignore the specifications, features, quality of build materials and price point of our winner, the Invidia Gemini. Already an extremely popular offering among 370Z owners, the value for money while providing an incredible soundtrack and great quality, we felt it just couldn’t be beaten.

Invidia Gemini

Invidia Gemini

Runner-up

The winner of our 350Z exhaust guide returns, this time as runner up. Despite it’s incredibly low price, insanely low weight and good looks, the Invidia Gemini ticked more of the correct boxes. The Tomei Expreme is loud, in your face and won’t suit everyone’s taste, but as far as money goes – it’s quite possibly the most tempting option!

Exhaust 370z

Turning into intense excitement. I never imagined that anal orgasm could be so powerful. Having driven a member to the very balls, Sasha pressed against my ass, and I felt hot thick sperm pouring out inside me.
