I've tried it on at least 5 different files now, and its starting to get annoying. I walk out of the Vault, go stright to were The Family is ( from blood ties quest) to steal all of their scrap metal, and than I go to Fort Independence. Every time at the end of the glitch Casdin attacks me rather then taking the scrap metal back. Is this a EU problem? or has the glitch been patched since I heard about it? this is on the Xbox btw.

Not as far as I know of.
I've heard that he would attack me if I had killed any Outcast members but I've tryed with fresh chacters he still attacks me. Oh well perhaps this is the games way of telling me to play legitimately, the games pretty easy as it is anyway.
Bottlecap & Scrap Metal Gltich / Exploit
Infinite caps, xp, stimpacs, ammo, meds, and grenades Exploitby beastglitcher (berthiaume8 | yahoo)
You will need to have access to Fort Independence and be friendly with the
outcasts. Save before even attempting this trick and do not overwrite the game
for the trick (just in case!). You will also need 16 scrap metal(this is not
required but works the best but you need to have an even number of scrap
metal.One or two stealth boys are required). Sell Protector Casdin all of your
scrap metal.
Save the game.
Put on the stealth boy and steal back your scrap metal and you shouldn't be
caught. Sell back all but two of you scrap metal. (He buys two at a time so if
you had 16 originally then you will sell him 14 scrap metal this time which is
7 times.)
Save the game.
If your stealth boy is still working steal back the 14 scrap metal. Exit the
pick pocket screen and you won't be caught if you did it right.You can save
here if you like. Pickpocket him again and steal one of his regular items like

that you have lost karma then 14 scrap metal removed and finally 16 scrap
metal removed.
check your inventory and you wont have any scrap metal. Talk to Casdin again
and try to sell him some scrap and he will buy it even though you don't have
any scrap metal. You can sell the invisible scrap metal to anyone that buys
scrap metal. (example: Walter in Megaton)
WARNING!!!! DO NOT PICK UP ANY SCRAP METAL AFTER DOING THIS GLITCH BECAUSE IT
WILL BREAK THE GLITCH
To become friendly with the outcasts you must "sell" Protector Casdin some of
you technology (power armor, enclave power armor, Tesla armor, plasma rifles
and pistols, laser rifles and pistols, not sure if mini guns and Gatling lasers
can be sold,alien items can be sold like the power cells and the the blaster,
if there are any regular power cells which I haven't found can also be sold.)

I have around 30 scrap metals, Casdin is dead, however Walter is not. Can I still do this glitch?

I sold scrap metals to Walter and got a little over XP. But I went from mostly just wandering from place to place killing everything. I also made sure I was Well Rested to speed the process.

I'm not antisocial, I just hate people.
I've been playing on very hard/well rested, hard to find enemies
i simply find this hard to believe. most enemies respawn every in-game 72 hours. i'm playing on very hard and i'm at level 27 and my problem is that i'm running into too many enemies. it's not that hard. just travel from location to location. once you figure out the enemy respawns you can place mines there.
Maybe due to dismembering bodies they arent respawning as much

Somebody listed all the respawn areas in a topic yesterday but this board moves so damn fast.. i printed them out but the list is at my house and i only printed mutants and enclave. i can still type it up later, when i get off work, if you want.
The mine idea is more for collecting armor and weapons purposes though. The idea being that once you get to the respawn area all you have to do is collect the goods.
