I have had one fish mounted. My wife caught a 70 lb Dorado in CAbo in 03'. The outfitter 'Dreamcatcher' recommended we use Gray's taxidermy. WE had been quoted that the fish would cost about $ to have mounted. I thought that was fair and paid the downpayment. They told us we would get a bill for the remainder at a later date. The fish cost us over $, no shit. I was totally pissed. The way they do it is charge you a downpayment fee first, then send you a bill for the remainder of the taxidermy fee, then a fee for building a crate to ship in, then a shipping and handling fee. I kid you not when I say the bills keep coming and you have no control. You either pay or don't get your mount. Yes, it is a replica, I knew it would be. They paint only one side of the fish. It looks like a Dorado. We had sent pics of the fish we caught with instructions to make it look as close as possible. They made no attempt, I guess $ ain't enough for that. What a joke.

About Mounting Your Fish &#; How It Works?
You can keep your fish and eat it if you like. If you are catch and release friendly, that is ok too! All we need to know is how long or how many inches your fish is, in order to get your fish replica made.
When making a replica, come see us with the following information so we can fill out the order form and give you a copy. We will get the name of the species you caught and how many inches it is. We will also collect your name, anglers name, shipping information, etc as well as take a deposit. It&#;s that simple.
Example &#; How much is a fish going to cost to get a replica made? Using the price sheet below, A giant red snapper that is 36 inches, the mount price is $ retail price. This price includes a deposit of $ and a final price owed to Gray&#;s of $ If you were to take the $ balance due on the fish mount, plus the $ deposit you paid, you come up with the $ retail price.

We charge a flat fee of $ deposit, no matter what the length is.
Shipping is extra and you have to make those arrangements with Gray&#;s yourself on any order.
