OverviewMilestone Technologies, Inc. is hiring part-time Project Technicians for upcoming technical relocation, deployment and support projects. At the base level, the project will consist of disconnecting workstations and/or servers, relocating hardware to a new facility and reconnecting workstations and/or servers in a new environment. The intermediate and advanced levels require additional responsibilities and skills sets and/or certifications.
Candidates should be self-starters, punctual, motivated/driven, pay attention to detail, are excited to learn and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Candidates will need to work well under pressure on large, fast-paced projects with changing priorities. We are looking for an excellent team player with a positive, flexible demeanor, yetis operates with a sense of urgency. This position requires standing for long periods of time. Position may also require repetitive bending, reaching, and heavy lifting.
Responsibilities
Leadership skills, Communicating with clients, Tracking project activities, Understanding move matrix's of desktops and server elevations, Advanced level desktop relocations, Server Relocation, Cable Management, Deployments of IT equipment. Punctuality, Managing schedule. Also needs to be properly dressed and well prepared.
Qualifications
* Manage/run crews ranging in size of 10-15 technicians • Exemplarily communication skills • Identify, document, and escalate any project related issues • Identify, install and patch all Server room equipment• Troubleshoot layer 1 network issues1. Able to accurately create/read:o Rack elevation drawingso Patching matrix o Layer 1 network topologies2. MS Office skills 3. Detailed oriented4. Additional preferred skills include:o Phone programming (VOIP), digital, and analog systems o Equipment deployment/decommissioningo Inventory documentation • Layer 1 computer repair is a plus Knowledge of a variety of current PC hardware and computer peripherals• Ability to proficiently disconnect/reconnect PC workstation and peripherals in a timely manner (30 minutes)• Ensure equipment is accurately labeled with origination/destination information• Mechanically inclined individual experienced in using power drills and hand tools • Basic knowledge of server environment• Able to rack and stack servers, install rail kits and monitor arms • Basic Cable management skills • Basic L1 Help Desk knowledge • Excellent attention to detail • Follows instructions• Availability to work weekends (Friday???)• Able to regularly lift 25 pounds• Perform data entry• Basic iOS /Android, Win OS navigation skills
