Demon transformation spell

Demon mythic path is joke! Need to be fix!

I’m really sorry to say that, because I find the concept of playing as a demon incredibly appealing, but at the moment, the demon mythic path is completely useless. Compared to other mythics, the demon has nothing that is… good. Literally the only reason anyone would want to play a demon is a story. There is nothing else. Whatever a demon can do, other mythic paths can do much better. Let’s look at a small comparison:

  1. ANGEL
    a) Can merge spell book.
    b) The best and strongest buffs in the game.
    c) Pretty good attack spells.
    d) Extremely strong passive effect.
    f) Sword of heaven, probably the best and strongest spell in the whole game (and can be made practically permanent and for the whole group).

It doesn’t matter if you are a caster, melee fighter or hybrid.
Angel is just extremely OP…

  1. TRICKSTER
    a) Incredibly versatile mythic path.
    b) Extremely large skill bonuses.
    c) Unlimited use of magical items and unlimited healing (from wands).
    d) Sneak attack and sneak attack healing.
    f) Extremely powerful bonuses for all found magic items (power lvl is insame).
    g) Quite average, but incredibly original spells for every occasion.
    h) During the rest you get random magic items. Some are end-game items and you can get them REALLY soon.

Often overlooked, but probably the second strongest mythic path (right after the angel).

  1. LICH
    a) Can merge spell book.
    b) Can revive enemy bosses as companions.
    c) Very good immunities.
    d) The strongest attack spells.
    f) Two extra companions (one regular + skeletal champion).

If you want a pure strong magic power, this is the best choice.
Although not very suitable for hybrids or melee fighters.

  1. AZATA
    a) Strong dragon companion.
    b) Superpowers.
    c) Much stronger version of bard’s songs.
    d) Average spells, but useful buffs.

Slightly above average mythic path with no specific focus, although superpowers are very strong and offer something for each class, which can lead to really strong builds. And own dragon is very cool.

  1. AEON
    a) Best immunities.
    b) He also gives immunities to companions.

Aeon is the second weakest mythic path right now. Enforcing Gaze and Aeon Bane they are not bad things, but they are simply not particularly strong. Definitely not when compared to the crazy bonuses offered by the previous mythic path. The same goes for his spells. Nothing extra good. If you ask me, Aeon should also get quite a significant power boost if you want him to be a regular choice when choosing a mythic path.

  1. DEMON
    a) Demon has nothing…

Demon is a large collection of various things that look good on paper, but do not work in real life and are practically useless. In addition, I could not find a class for which the demon would be suitable. Let’s take a look at his abilities.

Demon Spells - There are a few useful spells, but nothing strong or extra good.

Demonic Rage - Even at the highest level, it’s not as good as the passive effects that an Azata, Angel or trickster gets. And did I mention that it can only be used 2-4 times a day? In a game where rest is severely limited. Ridiculous…

Demonic Aspect - You get a whole bunch of them, but it’s completely useless. Their effect is very small and you can only use two at a time (maybe three at the end of the game, I’m not sure). So you only choose 2-3 which are at least a little useful (I forgot to say that their bonus does not stack) and although you will get about 10 more, you will never use them. There is also a secondary effect if you have active demonic rage, but nothing extra. Not even five active demonic aspects are as good as one Azata superpower.

Demonic Forms - And here’s what we’ve all been waiting for! The reason why people chose a demon! Ability to transform into a real demon! And the right feat will allow the transformation to last 24 hours! This will be awesome! But unfortunately it is not…

Demonic Forms are the biggest disappointments on the whole demon mythic path. I’ve already talked about it in another topic ( Demonic Forms ) , so I’ll just say it briefly. Demonic Forms are not suitable for any classes.

Caster and demonic form - Because your armor was destroyed during the transformation, your AC has been reduced. This is the last thing the caster wants, because the caster does not have very high AC even without transformation. Your weapon was also destroyed and you get claws, or some weak +1 weapon. A caster with low AC and no decent weapon skills is definitely not someone you would send to fight at close range. So for him, demonic forms are completely useless.

Fighter and demonic form - If you are an archer, stay away from demonic forms. All demon forms fight only at close range. If you are melee class, also stay away from demonic forms. For starters, you will lose armor which will reduce your AC. This is never good news for a melee class. You will also lose your weapon, which is even worse. Not only that all demonic weapons are complete junk, but you will also lose all your weapon talents and specializations. So your fighting skills will suffer badly with this transformation.

So like I said, demon forms aren’t really useful to anyone…

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CONCLUSION

I personally suggest three changes that can save demon mythic path.

1) Unlimited Demonic Rage - The effect is not so strong that it cannot be permanent.
Especially when compared to the permanent effects of other mythic paths.
2) Demonic Aspect - All effects should be passive, stackable and permanent.
Even then, it will be barely at the level of azata or angel.
3) Demonic Forms - We must be able to use our own weapons. At least in the case of demons who use weapons. If Balor uses a long sword, is it really so unimaginable that he could also use a scimitar or a bastard sword? More details here: ( Demonic Forms )

Devil Transformation (3.5e Spell)

The caster draws out a contract written in his own blood and some gold coins, which both disappear in a flash of red smoke. The skin of the caster becomes black and leathery.

Devil Skin grants different effects depending on the number of Devil Lore spells active on the caster or cast during the duration of this spell. For each unique Devil Lore spell currently active on the caster (including this spell) as well as cast during the duration of this spell, Devil Skin has the following effects:

Number of Spells CastEffect

5As previous, but +8 natural armor bonus to AC and your base attack bonus equals your character level -- You lose your spellcasting ability, including your ability to use spell activation or spell completion magic items, just as if the spells were no longer on your class list. You can still cast Devil Lore spells as normal however.
6As previous, but +10 natural armor bonus to AC
7As previous, but +12 natural armor bonus to AC
8As previous, but +14 natural armor bonus to AC
9As previous, but +16 natural armor bonus to AC

Any round in which the caster casts a Devil Lore spell, all other active Devil Lore spells have their duration extended by one round.

Material Component[edit]

A piece of parchment with an unsigned devil's contract written in the blood of the caster as well as 50 gold pieces. The parchment costs 50 gold pieces to prepare in addition to the 50 gold pieces consumed in the casting. It also causes 7 hitpoints to be lost from the caster's total hitpoints, which cannot be destroyed until the material component is destroyed (either physically or during the casting of this spell).

One of the most obvious characteristics of witches, is their ability to cast spells; a "spell" being the word used to signify the means employed to carry out a magical action. A spell could consist of a ritual action, a set of words, a verse, or any combination of these. Although majority of the spells are spoken in the native language of the witch, some spells require the use of other languages, such as Latin.

The Binding Ceremony

The Binding Ceremony.jpg

A binding ceremony is a powerful ritual that is able to bind the magic of a witch, to their coven, by suppressing their individual power.

Incantation:Fire, Earth, Metal, Air, Water and Blood. By these elements, we bind the circle, and follow in the steps of our ancestors; who pledged themselves to fight against the forces of darkness. When evil assails us, when fear weakens us, when descent threatens us, in the circle we will find our power. We come to this place alone, but leave bound as one. With this oath, our journey begins together. Do you accept the circle?

All: I accept.

Bindingthecircle.gif

Materials and Requirements: Bonfire and members of The Circle.

Mother Earth Cleansing Ritual

To destroy the dark magic within a witch is to call it out and rid them of it's power before it takes over, which means they have to die. It requires the cosmic power of Mother Earth's four elements to drown and bury the power which is not as powerful enough to kill Cassie Blake.

Requirements/Ingredients: Coffin, the symbol of Mother Earth, athame, elderberry tree branch, the witch with dark magic, Soil in order for the spell to work , the witch with dark magic must be willing to participate. The ritual is to be set in the woods and the coffin will act as their altar. A cloth with the symbol of mother earth on it should be placed on top of the coffin. The elderberry tree branch needs to be inside it. The dark witch

would need to focus their energy and mind on the middle of the Mother Earth symbol where as the other witch shall scatter soil around the symbol while reciting the incantation "I call on you Mother Earth, element of the physical, may you purge her clean". Afterwards, the blood of the dark witch should be spilled onto the middle of the symbol, where the lines connect. The coffin is to be then opened, revealing the elderberry tree branch. Snap the branch in half after the dark witch hands you the branch, this shall cause the dark witch to be rendered unconscious. By this time, place the witch's body in the coffin and close it. Place the cloth above it in the position where the witch's head should be. Using the athame, plunge it onto the coffin (hitting the middle of the Symbol). Raise your own power and call upon the power of Mother Earth to bury the coffin. The buried witch will die and her Dark Magic will die with her.

A isolating spell: No one in, no one out.

The Girl’s Celebration Ritual on The Night of Hecate

The Night of Hecate celebrates all of the phases in a woman’s life, Maiden, Mother and Crone, making it a perfect night for the girl’s ritual. Held at a crossroads in honor of Hecate goddess of crossroads and transformation, the girls enter the circle and sit around it. Each takes a candle and lights it saying a virtue or aspect of womanhood that they’d like to celebrate. The candle is then set in the center of the circle. Each girl’s candle once set in the center creates a circle of candles. The white and last candle goes in the center of candles. The girls than show the candles to the elements and get their blessing. The ceremony is to celebrate and affirm what girls are.

Faye uses a Red Cinnamon Candle to celebrate Passion

Incantation

Magical formula intended to trigger a magical effect

For other uses, see Incantation (disambiguation).

19th century book of incantations, written by a Welsh physician

An incantation, a spell, a charm, an enchantment or a bewitchery, is a magical formula intended to trigger a magical effect on a person or objects. The formula can be spoken, sung or chanted. An incantation can also be performed during ceremonial rituals or prayers. In the world of magic, wizards, witches, and fairies allegedly perform incantations.[1]

In medieval literature, folklore, fairy tales, and modern fantasy fiction, enchantments are charms or spells. This has led to the terms "enchanter" and "enchantress" for those who use enchantments.[2] The English language borrowed the term "incantation" from Old French in the late 14th century; the corresponding native English term was "galdr" "song, spell". The weakened sense "delight" (compare the same development of "charm") is modern, first attested in 1593 (OED).

Surviving written records of historical magic spells were largely obliterated in many cultures by the success of the major monotheistic religions (Islam, Judaism, and Christianity), which label some magical activity as immoral or associated with evil.[3]

Etymology[edit]

The Latinincantare, which means "to consecrate with spells, to charm, to bewitch, to ensorcel", forms the basis of the word "enchant", with deep linguistic roots going back to the Proto-Indo-Europeankan-prefix. So it can be said that an enchanter or enchantress casts magic spells, or utters incantations.

The words that are similar to incantations such as enchantment, charms and spells are the effects of reciting an incantation. To be enchanted is to be under the influence of an enchantment, usually thought to be caused by charms or spells.

Magic words[edit]

Main article: Magic word

Magic words or words of power are words which have a specific, and sometimes unintended, effect. They are often nonsense phrases used in fantasy fiction or by stage prestidigitators. Frequently such words are presented as being part of a divine, adamic, or other secret or empoweredlanguage. Certain comic book heroes use magic words to activate their powers.

Examples of traditional magic words include Abracadabra, Alakazam, Hocus Pocus, Open Sesame and Sim Sala Bim.

Uses[edit]

In Babylonian, incantations can be used in rituals to burn images of one's own enemies. An example would be found in the series of Mesopotamian incantations of Šurpu and Maqlû. In the Orient, the charming of snakes have been used in incantations of the past and still used today. A person using an incantation would entice the snake out of its hiding place in order to get rid of them.[1]

Udug-hul[edit]

Main article: Udug

In Mesopotamian mythology, Udug Hul incantations are used to exorcise demons (evil Udug) who bring misfortune or illnesses, such as mental illness or anxiety. These demons can create horrible events such as divorce, loss of property, or other catastrophes.[4]

In folklore and fiction[edit]

In traditional fairy tales magical formulas are sometimes attached to an object.[citation needed] When the incantation is uttered, it helps transform the object. In such stories, incantations are attached to a magic wand used by wizards, witches and fairy-godmothers. One example is the spell that Cinderella's Fairy Godmother used to turn a pumpkin into a coach, "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo", a nonsense rhyme which echoes more serious historical incantations.[5]

Modern uses and interpretations[edit]

The performance of magic almost always involves the use of language. Whether spoken out loud or unspoken, words are frequently used to access or guide magical power. In The Magical Power of Words (1968), S. J. Tambiah argues that the connection between language and magic is due to a belief in the inherent ability of words to influence the universe. Bronisław Malinowski, in Coral Gardens and their Magic (1935), suggests that this belief is an extension of man's basic use of language to describe his surroundings, in which "the knowledge of the right words, appropriate phrases and the more highly developed forms of speech, gives man a power over and above his own limited field of personal action."[6]: 235  Magical speech is therefore a ritual act and is of equal or even greater importance to the performance of magic than non-verbal acts.[7]: 175–176

Not all speech is considered magical. Only certain words and phrases or words spoken in a specific context are considered to have magical power.[7]: 176  Magical language, according to C. K. Ogden and I. A. Richards's (1923) categories of speech, is distinct from scientific language because it is emotive and it converts words into symbols for emotions; whereas in scientific language words are tied to specific meanings and refer to an objective external reality.[7]: 188  Magical language is therefore particularly adept at constructing metaphors that establish symbols and link magical rituals to the world.[7]: 189

Malinowski argues that "the language of magic is sacred, set and used for an entirely different purpose to that of ordinary life."[6]: 213  The two forms of language are differentiated through word choice, grammar, style, or by the use of specific phrases or forms: prayers, spells, songs, blessings, or chants, for example. Sacred modes of language often employ archaic words and forms in an attempt to invoke the purity or "truth" of a religious or a cultural "golden age". The use of Hebrew in Judaism is an example.[7]: 182

Another potential source of the power of words is their secrecy and exclusivity. Much sacred language is differentiated enough from common language that it is incomprehensible to the majority of the population and it can only be used and interpreted by specialized practitioners (magicians, priests, shamans, even mullahs).[6]: 228 [7]: 178  In this respect, Tambiah argues that magical languages violate the primary function of language: communication.[7]: 179  Yet adherents of magic are still able to use and to value the magical function of words by believing in the inherent power of the words themselves and in the meaning that they must provide for those who do understand them. This leads Tambiah to conclude that "the remarkable disjunction between sacred and profane language which exists as a general fact is not necessarily linked to the need to embody sacred words in an exclusive language."[7]: 182

The envelopes bore the sender's return address. Having received letters from the artist and taking them home with me, I read them at my leisure. Their content was interesting enough. From the letters I learned that the artist was in correspondence with two twin brothers who live quite far from our city, 400-500 kilometers in the neighboring region in.
