Tranquility

Preamble

Tranquility is a Skyrim SE modlist aimed at people looking for long-lasting and harder gameplay from traditional Skyrim. It uses several overhauls such as Ordinator, Morrowloot, Skyrim Revamped, and many others to enhance roleplayability as well as provide a sufficient difficulty increase. Tranquility is also built around Legacy of the Dragonborn, offering over 20 patches for the mod to fulfil your hoarding desires.

The complete modlist can be found here.

System Requirements

Download Size: 102GB Install Size: 129GB

Tranquility is a mid- to high-end list in terms of graphics. A minimum of 6GB VRAM is required to play smoothly (60fps) on 1080p and 8GB VRAM to play smoothly (60fps) on 1440p.

I made this list with my specs in mind, and I am able to get 60FPS (capped so my GPU doesn't work harder than it needs to) in Riverwood and Whiterun outdoors with Rudy ENB for Cathedral Weathers and these specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
  • GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra
  • RAM: 4x8 3200Mhz G-Skill RAM
  • SSD: Corsair Force MP510 1TB NVME SSD

Installation

Pre-Installation

These steps are only needed if you install this Modlist for the first time. If you update the Modlist, jump straight to Updating.

Installing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package

I doubt you need to do this since you likely already have this installed. The package is required for MO2 and you can download it from Microsoft. Download the x64 version under "Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019". Direct link if you can't find it.

Steam Config

Disable the Steam Overlay

The Steam Overlay can cause issues with ENB and is recommended to be turned off.

Open the Properties window (right-click the game in your Library->Properties), navigate to the General tab and un-tick the Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game checkbox.

Change Steams Update Behaviour

SSE is still being updated by Bethesda (they only add Creation Club content). Whenever the game updates, the entire modding community goes silent for the next one or two weeks because some mods need to be updated to the latest game runtime version.

To ensure that Steam does not automatically update the game for you, head over to the Properties window, navigate to the Updates tab and change Automatic updates to Only update this game when I launch it. You should also disable the Steam Cloud while you're at it.

Set the Game language to English

Just do it. This entire Modlist is in English and 99% of all mods you will find are also in English. I highly recommend playing the game in English and I will not give support to people with a non-English game.

Open the Steam Properties window, navigate to the Language tab and select English from the dropdown menu.

Clean Skyrim

I highly recommend uninstalling the game through Steam, deleting the game folder, and reinstalling it. You should also clean up the folder in by deleting its contents. Alternatively you can use Skyrim Shredder to remove everything modding-related from your hard drive.

Start Skyrim

After you have done everything above and got a clean SSE installation ready, start the Launcher and and let it do the initial graphics check. Do not worry about this part as the installation will overwrite these graphics settings. Start the game and exit once you're in the main menu.

Using Wabbajack

Preparations

Grab the latest release of Wabbajack from here and place the file in a working folder. This folder must not be in a common folders like your Desktop, Downloads or Programme Files folder. It's best to create a Wabbajack folder near the root level of your drive, e.g. .

Downloading and Installing

The download and installation process can take a very long time depending on your system specs. Wabbajack will calculate the amount of threads it will use at the start of the installation. To have the highest amount of threads and thus the fastest speed, it is advised to have the working folder on an SSD.

Grab the modlist from the releases tab.

  1. Open Wabbajack.
  2. Click on browse Modlists and seelct the modlist you downloaded above.
  3. Set the Installation folder to somewhere that is not affected by UAC (Please do not put it in Documents, Programme Files, Desktop. Put it somewhere easy like ). The downloads path should automatically fill in the installation path.
  4. Click the Go/Begin button.
  5. Wait for Wabbajack to finish.
  6. If you run into any issues see the next section. If the installation is successful, proceed to Post-Installation.
Problems with Wabbajack

There are a lot of different scenarios where Wabbajack will produce an error. I recommend restarting Wabbajack before posting anything. Wabbajack will continue where it left off so you lose no progress.

Could not download x:

If a mod updated and the old files got deleted, it is impossible to download them. In this case just wait till I update the Modlist.

Wabbajack could not find my game folder:

Wabbajack will not work with a pirated version of the game. If you own the game on Steam, go back to the Pre-Installation step.

Path is a zero length string error:

This error occurs when you don't specify an installation folder in the installation before hitting run.

Post-Installation

Game Folder

The installation will create a copy of your Skyrim Special Edition game in . This will then contain all the necessary files such as SKSE, ENB Binaries, Reshade Binaries, and mod required dlls such as Engine Fixes. There is no need to copy anything to your Steam version of Skyrim as we will be running SKSE from within this folder to play the game

ENB

Tranquility comes with Silent Horizons ENB included.

If you want a different ENB, you can choose from a wide variety of ENBs on the Nexus that support Cathedral Weathers. To replace the ENB installed: Delete the enbcache folder, enbseries folder, and enbseries.ini, and replace those with the new ENB. You don't have to delete the enblocal.ini as that contains tweaks that don't affect how it looks but rather things like screenshot formats, VSYNC settings, etc.

A few other ENB suggestions are:

The video game has been modified

Please do not expect the game to be functionally similar to vanilla. There are a lot of mods installed that modify core base game functionality as well as adding on new mechanics. Please see Modified Gameplay for a non-exhaustive list of changes in Tranquility.

How to start up Tranquility

Head over to the installation folder and locate an executable named and launch it. Once its launched there will be a dropdown box on the top right and a big run button next to it. Ensure it is set to SKSE by selecting it in the dropdown box and then hitting the run button.

Updating

If this Modlist receives an update please check the Changelog before doing anything. Always backup your saves or start a new game after updating.

Wabbajack will delete all files that are not part of the Modlist when updating!

This means that any additional mods you have installed on top of the Modlist will be deleted. Your downloads folder will not be touched!

Updating is like installing. You only have to make sure that you select the same path and tick the overwrite existing Modlist button.

Creating your Character

Tranquility uses Skyrim Unbound Reborn as its alternate start mod. When the game begins you will be looking over a destroyed Helgen. This is where initial scripts are started and should be left alone for about 10-15 seconds. Once it is done you can configure your desired start using the Skyrim Unbound MCM setting. When you are happy with your desired start choice, hit Begin in the MCM. For the sake of compatibility, please do not create a non dragonborn character. I am not going to stop you but do not expect the game to function 100% with a feature that disables a core part of Skyrim.

Once you begin you will be taken to character creation and then to your new game

In-Game MCM Options

All the required MCM options have been automated for you. Enjoy the game or tweak the following to your liking:

  • iHud
  • SkyUI
  • Lucien (If you set a nickname that's supported he can call you by that name)
  • XP32 Skeleton Styles

Optional Survival Config

Included in Tranquility is SunHelm Survival. It is disabled by default and will prompt to turn on when you sleep or if you manually activate it. If you're not a fan of this, just disable it in the MCM option. DO NOT UNINSTALL THE MOD

Keyboard Mapping

keyboardmapping

Note: Night vision is only available to Khajiit, Vampires, and Werewolves. Hunter Vision is only available to Vampires and Werewolves.

Other Post Installation FAQ

Ultrawide Options

If you have an ultrawide monitor (21:9), the UI will look off. You will want to install a set of mods meant to help with widescreen monitors:

  1. Find the mod Dear Diary in the left pane of MO2 and reinstall it with your desired Widescreen aspect ratio.
  2. Head over to Complete Widescreen Fix for Vanilla and SkyUI 2.2 and 5.2 SE.
  3. Under Optional Files, grab .
  4. Install the mod, activate it, and let it load at the bottom.

You should now have a working UI with widescreen support.

Tweaking the Game Settings

I highly recommend using BethINI which is included in this Modlist (can be found in ). I recommend tweaking the section for more FPS:

  • : Very big one. A good balance is which is the borderline between high FPS drainage and garbage looking shadows.
  • : Highly recommended to turn either this or your ENB version off. Do not have the game AO and an ENB AO turned on at the same time.
  • : If you really struggle, use this. This will disable all shadows (not recommended).

Zoomed in Display

This can be caused by Window's Display Scaling feature. This usually is set to above 100% when using very large (32 inch++) sized monitors and TVs. There are two solutions to this

  • Set the display scaling back to 100% in the Screen Resolution Settings for Windows.

Or edit the mod SSE Display Tweaks:

  • Under set Fullscreen to and Borderless to .

Removing the Modlist

You can just remove the MO2 folder and be done with it. SKSE and ENB files will still be in your game folder so I recommend using ENB and ReShade Manager if you want to remove the ENB.

Re: ENB & TTW 3.2

Postby IvoryOwl » Tue Nov 13, 2018 9:17 pm

At first I thought your game was running out of memory but then I remembered 3.2 comes with the 4GB patch included so now I'm at a loss... What other mods do you have installed? And did you download the correct enbseries version? The 0.332 one? Don't forget to turn off anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering from the game's launcher and to disable steam overlay if you use Steam. Some ENBs require you to tweak the enblocal.ini to match your hardware; i.e, if they're set to use 4GB but your PC only has 2GB or VRam, it could pose some issues.

I tried to use Rudy ENB myself and it sort of works... but I have the infamous water transparency bug that just doesn't want to go away. Basically, every body of water in the area becomes a floating ghost in the map, overlapping everything else. I already disabled both AA and AF, depth fog and water displacement in the game's launcher, enabled and disabled a few settings in the enb's .ini, disabled steam overlay, and checked my AMD's profile settings. Nada. Same thing happened with New California, same ENB.

I've had my game working great for months. However I just decided to use Skyrim Mod Combiner to add a whole bunch of textures I felt needed updating.
It seems to have worked fine in that all the textures are there, BUT enb is now really out of whack .

I was originally using enbseries 0.301 with Natural Lighting and Atmospherics enb.
Switched to 0.292 and also tried 0.305 to see if that'd help but no luck.

Screenshots of the bug:http://imgur.com/a/PbKuY
All of those were taken within a few minutes/seconds of each other...
They do show the bug but it looks even worse in a lot of areas.

This bug occurs when:
  • Creating a new game
Opening the enb menu in game with Shift+Enter
    Equipping/unequipping a torch
    Opening/closing the steam overlay
    Taking a screenshot
Brightness/saturation/gamma seems to be what is changing.
When doing any of those listed items, the game colors/shadows can go from extremely bright to dark in an instant.

Since discovering this bug I have tried:
  • Changing enb versions
Deleting all enb related files and installing fresh
Reverting back to my old MO profile from before adding all the new mods
Making a completely fresh MO profile with no mods, and just the base enb running
Completely deleting my data folder and installing skyrim/skse/enb all fresh
Nothing has worked. The bug is still exactly the same.

I was thinking maybe some setting could have been changed.
I am 99% sure all of my game settings are proper but ill posted them above in case someone spots something.

I'm at a loss...

Thanks in advance for any insight.

PostSubject: Fallout 3 ENB Help: D.C Moods.   Fallout 3 ENB Help: D.C Moods. EmptyWed Jan 20, 2016 9:25 pm

So i have a small problem, i am using this mod called D.C Moods, which is kind of an ENb but more performance friendly and well i am not quite sure if it is an ENB, but here is what it says on the page.

Quote :
This mod is not gonna change the weather system of the game, you will not have rain or snow, i have tried to make it using the great tutorial from Enhanced weather, and i succeded in having rain system working but i think it's not good enough to be realistic with FO3 engine...
I mean :
_no specularity change on objects or reflection on ground, to simulate wet materials,
_no particle effects when raindrops hits the ground,
_rain drops only spawn close to player no raindrops beyond.
_If it snows, then the environment might become white covered with snow, and there's no way i know to achieve this ...

I mean if it cannot be realistic enough to make the illusion i'd rather let it go, because i'm not convinced by other mods that did this.

Anyways my problem is that whenever i level up, get a pop up message such as a DLC or wait or just in general when that menu pops up this happens.

Bug:

Fallout 3 ENB Help: D.C Moods. WSf55laR

It looks like my monitor is lagging and is slowing down, but outside of that menu it all works perfect.

Anyone know the solution?

Cheers

To add, one of two solutions:

1. Remove ENB completely and install the non-ENB version of D.C. Moods with patches; or

2. (Preferred) Disable Steam Overlay to prevent conflict with ENB.

Glad it worked-out for you, Veteran. Thumbs Up

Steam overlay enb

F.N.B.P. ENB Settings

If you only want to use the ENB, not the recommended mods, please note the following:
For the ENB to look as intended, please use Interior Fog Remover (LINK), and FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting (LINK).
*Changing weather/lighting mods won't impact your save-games, and can be installed/uninstalled at any time without problems.

Installing ENB & the FNBP ENB Settings

1 - Download the official ENB files

ENB Download site: (LINK)
*Download latest version
Unpack the file and copy the content of the "WrapperVersion" folder, into the Fallout: New Vegas game-folder. If asked, overwrite any existing files.

2 - Download Fallout NV Beautification Project ENB Settings

Fallout NV Beautification Project ENB Settings: (LINK)
Unpack the file into the Fallout: New Vegas game-folder. When asked, overwrite any existing files.

*Alternative download mirror: (DOWNLOAD)

3 - Disable the Steam Overlay

Obviously this only applies for the Steam version of the game. If the Steam Overlay is enabled, the game will start up with excessive contrast. Normal contrast may apply after entering another cell in-game, but it's not guaranteed. Turning the Steam Overlay off is the best solution.

Setting up ENB

The only thing you need to setup, is indicating how much video memory ENB can use. The settings are pre-made for systems with Nvidia GeForce 10 series Graphics cards. If you have a GTX 1060, 1070 or 1080, you don't need to change anything. Skip to the next step instead.

If you have an older nVidia graphics card, these setting most likely work as well, but if they don't, the ENB might not be able to auto-detect you memory. In that case, you will be notified at game launch, and you will have to open the Fallout: New Vegas game-folder, and then open the "enblocal.ini" file with a notepad.

Find the following lines:
VideoMemorySizeMb=0

Change the zero value to equal the amount of video memory your system has, minus 384MB.
For instance, if you have 4BG video memory, the number will be: 4095 - 384 = 3712, and the line should look like this:
VideoMemorySizeMb=3712

*If you are not sure how much video memory your graphics card has, use this tool made by Boris Vorontsov. (LINK)

If you don't have a nVidia Graphics card, you can use this ENBoost Tool to determine your "enblocal.ini" settings.

Proceed to Tweaks

If you want to play with the ENB setting yourself, you can do so by editing the "enbseries.ini" file with a notepad, or you can edit them in-game, by pressing shift+enter. A word of advise before starting. ENB contains a LOT of environmental settings, which all differ with time of day, location, time of year and different types of weather. When changing settings in one location, it might have unforeseen effects somewhere else, so it's a good idea to test ONE changes at a time, and in different environment. Messing everything up is VERY easy, trust me on this one. It is very time consuming to test this amount of settings in all different environments and times, but it's absolutely necessary if you want a great looking ENB. If you don't have time for testing, I strongly advise not to play around with the environmental settings. However, if you do have the time, by all means, I would LOVE to receive ideas for improvements and better settings, and incorporate them into this project. (Please write me on the Nexus Blog)

Forgive my ignorance.

I want to use ENB's to take screen captures but dont want to loose any performance for something that I dont want while playing.

Any that can be toggled?

What is this? Forged in Gods very flames! Do mine eyes tell me lies? A new Elder Scrolls game?
Time is nigh, I must fly, Venture forth on my quest!

You can press Shift+F12 to toggle ENB on and off.

Shift-F12 is the toggle for most configs, there are some that use F10 to avoid conflict with the Steam Overlay (mine, for instance).

No, the pants are not optional.

So, ENB's I download from Nexus can be toggled on and off?

Will this affect performance? Say if I turn it off will I regain all my performance?

Yes

"Why are you always smiling?"
"'Cause it's all so f***in' hysterical."

I don't know if you're technically regaining "all" of your performance, since some stuff is still running through the module (it just disables all of the effects). But it'll be close enough that you shouldn't have to worry.
